We Want YOUR Feedback About Trimester 1 Ceremony

Staff and Students:

SLT would like your feedback about the trimester one awards ceremony. What did you like? Any ideas for improvement? Feel free to allow your students time to respond to the blog post. We want to hear from both staff and students.

Upcoming Events:
SLT students will be volunteering at CEAP on Wednesday, December 15th. Also, stay tuned for our annual OALC bowling trip to Brunswick Zone in January.

  1. I love having students show off their work from the trimester- like the "I believe essays"
More/different teachers should consider giving awards. It is always the same 4 or 5 people have been giving the awards for the past 10 years.

  4. i feel like every teacher should of gave an award to at least 4 kids in their class because some kids in the basic classes like reading, science, and math actually try really hard in there and they get no credit at all and i dont think its fair at all because some of them classes are some kids weakest. &+ i love the slide show's and the comments Mr. hill has to say about our future it actually get to alot of us.

  5. i think the teachers should give a reward to more students like 4 to 5 students so more students could feel better about theirselves. other than that i liked it. i also liked it when Mr. Hill showed us a clip and gave a speech. It meant alot to me.

  6. I liked that the school and the teacher acknowlged students for their hard work in school cause it is so easy to give up when you feel that nobody takes notice in your hard work. I dont think that there is much to improve besides the fact that there can be alot more awards that were given. I enjoyed the ceremony it shows that the school is really proud of the students and they should be awarded for their success.

  7. what i liked about the cereomny was the probably the ending where they would have a student go up and perform on stage. what i would like to see more is captain A's jokes. what i would also like to see more is for more teachers go up and present more awards for students. Also maybe for the lunch teachers to go up once in a while and present free cookies or something that would be nice.

  8. I love the idea of recognizing our students for their hard work. And I'm so happy to see students responding and voicing their opinions about the awards ceremonies. Keep the suggestions coming!

    Some ideas I have:
*Have a variety of staff members share their experiences and give the motivational piece that Mr. Hill has done
*More time for students to share their talents/works/etc...
*Loved seeing the work that kids are doing OUTSIDE of school as well
*Agree with incorporating more awards, giving more motivation for students to strive to receive an award
    *Have students "MC" the event
*Have a "theme" to the awards ceremony
*More events/activities to build unity throughout the year = more pictures for the slideshows!
